Asia Argento is an Italian actress and film director who is a member of a large family of both. She's pursued the two professions herself. When she was nine the actress made her acting debut in Sergio Cittis Sogni e bisogni. Asia began directing short films in the year 1994. The two she directed were Prospettive, 1996, she directed a document about her father, and Abel/Asia in 1998, about the cult film director Abel Ferrara. This latter was awarded at the Rome Film Festival. Asia was first introduced as a feature-length director with Scarlet Diva (2000). The film featured her as a director. She was also the lead actress and wrote the screenplay. In May 2000, the movie was made available both in Italy as well as around the world. The film was released on Brooklyn, New York it won a award at the Williamsburg film festival. Anna Lou was her first born child in the year 2001. After the directing of several music videos she had Anna Lou. In 2002 Asia appeared in The Red Siren with Jean Marc Barr, and Rob Cohen's Action thriller, which was directed by Vin Diesel.
